Teachers at That’s Showbiz Theatre Company: Elizabeth Costello, Lynsie Haley, C.J. Martin and John Thiel.
Elizabeth Costello earned her B.A. in Theatre Arts from San Jose State University & later studied at the William Esper and HB studios in NYC. She has performed in New York, California, & Michigan in a variety of plays & musicals, & appeared briefly on “One Live to Live.” She was in Stockton Civic Theatre’s Sweeney Todd as the Beggar Woman, winning both the Elly Award & the SCT Willie Award for Best Supporting Actress in a musical. She is also Makeup Designer for St. Mary’s High School Theatre.
Lynsie Haley has 22 years of dance training and has
choreographed several pageants, school programs, and variety/talent
shows. She is a fourth generation Stocktonian and a graduate of St.
Mary’s High School and California State University, Fullerton, with a
degree in Child and Adolescent Development, and also earned units in
Dance .Lynsie has worked with Disney Cruise Lines as a Youth
Activities Counselor and toured seven countries with the acclaimed
program Up With People–where she performed in a professional show that
used music and dance as a universal language. Currently a second grade
teacher at St. Luke’s Catholic Elementary School, Lynsie still has a
passion for the performing arts. She has been involved with Stockton
Civic Theatre and most recently performed in A Christmas
Carol. At Showbiz, she took the stage as Augusta Van Gush
in Dark Deeds at Swan’s Place, appeared in A Showbiz
Christmas 2013! and directed The Wicked Witch of the Wild
West.
Christopher “C.J.” Martin has been seen onstage all over San Joaquin County, most recently in A Tribute to Laugh-in and as sound designer for Arsenic and Old Lace at That’s Showbiz Theatre Company. He is also very active with Stockton Civic Theatre and Community Theatre of Linden. When offered, C.J. teaches our drop-in class for teens.
John Thiel is a recent graduate of Bucknell University, where he studied Theatre, Dance, and Education. Notable performances include his role as “Jackie” in The Wild Party and his direction of Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries. Having grown up in Stockton, he has performed many times at Stockton Civic Theatre, most recently in Sweeney Todd. At That’s Showbiz, he performed in A Showbiz Christmas 2013, and he helped choreograph last summer’s production of Broadway Bound. He currently teaches 5th grade at Stockton Collegiate International School where he teaches occasional acting workshops for kids. John will be co-directing and choreographing our 2014 summer show for high-schoolers, Broadway Sings America!
